The right strength development is dependent upon proper technique, progression, and rest.

In the LEAP-Coaching High School & Collegiate Strength program, we apply a progressive approach to fitness development. This includes form instruction and correction for our newest athletes. The balance, agility, and strength routines start from simply and transition to more complex as the athlete develops. While it appears to be the same workout, slight difference allow for optimal personal gains. A closer look, and you'll notice not everyone is doing the same workout.

LEAP-Coaching will now offer a winter Strength and Conditioning program out of the @waterford_fitness facility.

We have sent out emails to all our previous Summer Strength & Conditioning athletes outlining the details. PM me for details.

LEAP-Coaching has been working with regional high school and collegiate level athletes for 6 years now. The focus has been to improve athletic balance and game day strength and conditioning. We have had success training Lacrosse, Football, Soccer, Track, and Cross-Country athletes. Our athletes stay healthy and a step ahead of the competition.

Real talk: I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared. Big goals should be a little scary, I think. Marathon training is a freaking beast, physically and emotionally. After taking a season to focus on speed, I’ve been nervous to buckle down again. But I put on my lights and headed out into the dark drizzly morning to get it done. Keep showing up, every damn day.

Since 2015 I have carried a GPS emergency beacon on my bigger adventures. Santa must have known it was time for an upgrade to the @garminoutdoor GPSMAP 66i with @geosworldwide . Time to plan the next adventure to the @whitemountains . Make safety a priority. Even bad things happen to the most experienced of us.

Make training a priority. This means communicate your plans with friends and family. It also means check your calendar (Doctor's appointment, etc) and long term weather forecast (Storms). Adapt and over-come. Plan ahead and move days around so you complete key workouts. Consider moving your recovery days to schedule/weather conflicts. Don't wake up on Wednesday and be surprised by the weather and miss a training day.

I spent the most time race day planning for Bigfoot200 than any other race of my life. Days of packing, weather checks, and 'What-If' scenerio planning helped me to be fully prepared for the terrain and elements. Heat, cold, rain, big ascents, technical terrain, river crossings, etc were not going to stop me. While I was unsuccessful (DNF), it wasn't as the result of poor planning.

Invest the time before your big race preparing for what may arise so that you don't need to problem solve in the race. You cannot over-prepare.

6 months seems a long way off till we host another camp, nevertheless, we are always looking to add new gear for the Summer Strength & Conditioning Program.

We have been talking about incorporating weighted jump ropes to the S&C program since the end of last summer. Talk no more...@crossropejumpropes are ordered! This is another step towards enhancing our athletes' neuromuscular response and quickness, giving them the edge they seek.

By far not my fastest, nor my slowest.

Even though my legs felt fresh and were ready to fly, that was not on the plan. Today I kept the race horses back in the barn, and just enjoyed the miles at a comfortable pace.

Good strength to be gained, at little fatigue cost. Maybe tomorrow, the horses will ride hard!

By far not my fastest, nor my slowest.

Even though my legs felt fresh and were ready to fly, that was not on the plan. Today I kept the race horses back in the barn, and just enjoyed the miles at a comfortable pace.

Good strength to be gained, at little fatigue cost. Maybe tomorrow, the horses will ride hard!

Winter is coming.

Picked up a new pair of road shoes, as my road miles tend to increase during the winter months.

I am excited to lace up the @altrarunning Torin 4.5. This will allow me to save my Olympus and LonePeak for the trails. I am sticking with the brand the works, year round, on any surface.

Monday after completing the Shenipsit Trail End to End (50mile) is still a work day. Today I focus maximizing recovery to get me back on trail ASAP. Techniques include extra hydration, increase in nutrient dense calories, compression, extra sleep, and massage.

My feet were beat up from this run. Possibly the most post-run ache is not in my legs, but rather my feet. Solution: lacrosse ball massages. I will roll the foot over the ball several times today, slowly increasing the weight. Easy enough to do while sitting at my desk working.

She dreams up the craziest shit.

A year ago, @shannonrae79 suggested we run the #duncanridgetrail50k on Saturday, and #flyingmonkeymarathon in Sunday. I agreed, as a challenge is a challenge.

This was the most challenging 50km of my career. Leaf covered technical trail, freezing rain, and 10,000 feet of both gain and loss. Sunday's recovery marathon was something for the ages. I have never claimed to be the smartest ultramarathoner, but dumb shit simply appeals to me.

No challenges this year, darn Covid. I am sure she has something in mind for 2021!
